Welcome to Hawthorn Valley
Come out to visit Hawthorn Valley Farm & Nature Preserve, and stay for a night or two in our Bed & Breakfast Guest House!
Hawthorn Valley is a small family-owned conservation area and Carolinian restoration project nestled in the rolling farmlands of Southwestern Ontario in Oxford County. After 30 years of traditional livestock production and crop cultivation, we began in the late 1990's to redesign our farm and our lifestyle by improving environmental stewardship of the land, promoting ecological diversity through native plant propagation, and developing sustainable local food sources for our family, friends and guests.
Hawthorn Valley Farm is now a focal point for environmental
awareness in our community and a uniquely beautiful getaway for
travelers, couples, families and small groups. Our 60-acre venue
features a guest house with two bedrooms, extra space to suit families with children, a big living room area and a full kitchen. This guest house
overlooks the broad river valley and our bird and animal habitat
preserve, which offers countless opportunities for recreation and
relaxation. Just outside the back door is our natural garden where we grow a wide variety of delicious vegetables using organic methods. Beyond is an outdoor native plant nursery--a
re-naturalized cornfield now home to a selection of Carolinian flora
species cultivated for small-scale seed collection and replanting.
For the outdoor enthusiast, we offer a private par-3 eco-golf course, a disc (frisbee) golf setup for kids, and walking paths throughout the farm.
